2024 Safety Banquet

On Thursday, February 6th, 2025, we held our annual 2024 Safety Banquet at the Farmville Depot to celebrate the safety achievements of the past year. As shown in the photos below, each employee was invited to bring a guest to join the festivities. The evening included a delicious meal by Debra Dail Catering, a guest speaker, safety presentations, awards for safety and service, door prizes, and three grand prizes!
Our guest speaker for the evening was Lauren Peightal, Risk Management Specialist at Selective Insurance. Originally from outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Lauren moved to Raleigh 4.5 years ago for work. Her insightful presentation focused on the importance of safe driving.
A highlight of the event was recognizing employees’ safety records, with cash bonuses awarded for each year of safe work. This year, we awarded amounts ranging from $150 to $1,000. These bonuses are just one of many incentives we offer to encourage a culture of safety.
The Safety Banquet is also our opportunity to honor employees for their years of service with the company. We celebrated the following milestones this year:
- 1 year: Nic Sciarrino and Joe Casteel (each received a Farrior and Sons collared shirt and a framed certificate)
- 5 years: Matthew Chappell (received a Farrior and Sons jacket and certificate)
- 10 years: David Norville and Bryan Pearsall (received a $250 gift and certificate)
- 20 years: Ivey Pilkington (received a $500 gift and certificate)
- 30 years: Ronnie Bynum (received a $1,000 gift, a certificate, and a plaque)
To further show appreciation for our employees’ safety commitment, we held a door prize drawing, where each employee had a chance to win one of the 18 prizes. The night was topped off with the grand prize drawings. This year’s grand prizes included:
- First: A $500 cash prize, won by Dennis Taylor
- Second: A 36” Blackstone grill, won by Armando Leal
- Ultimate grand prize: A 4-night cruise for two! This includes the cost of the cruise, 1.5 days of paid vacation, and $500 for expenses—won by David Norville!
